A short after-school movement routine without pressure

Start with one moment in the day and one game your child wants to choose. A short after-school routine can have a clear beginning and end while still making room for rest, saying no and changing the plan.

Choose a moment, not a perfect plan

You could try after a snack, after a walk or before evening reading. Treat this as an idea for organising the day, not a task that must happen regardless of tiredness. A child coming home from a sports class might choose rest that day.

Try a concrete question: “Would you rather dance or play the mirror game?” If the answer is “neither”, you can return to the idea another day.

An example ten-minute window

  1. Begin: clear a space and choose a song or game together.
  2. Play: start with an easy, familiar movement.
  3. Let your child decide: repeat it, choose another game or rest.
  4. Finish: stop at the agreed point and move on to the next part of the day.

Ten minutes here is a slot in the day, including choices and breaks. You do not need to fill every second with movement. You can begin with a shorter slot and keep it short if that suits your family.

Returning after a break

There is no need to make up missed days with a double session. Return to one familiar game. Instead of comparing a streak, ask: “What felt fun today, and what would we change next time?”

If you want a record, a date and the chosen activity are enough. There is no need to compare children or set performance records. Stop if something hurts and keep the activity suitable for your child's ability.

What this looks like in Skokolo

In the pilot, a parent chooses 10 or 15 minutes and a goal of 3 or 4 days a week. Recorded voices guide tasks and breaks. Progress belongs to the family account; the same private link opens it on another device. There is no store app to install.

A session can end early. Stars and story episodes follow movement, but there is no streak that disappears after a missed day. The pilot is free for 8 weeks. It is a short home activity, not a replacement for all the movement in a child's day. The current pilot is in Poland with Polish narration; the English page is information about that pilot.
